Thanks for the advice, everyone! Say, that Russian camera is a thought...anyone use one of those? Would be cool to have a new super 8 that is under a warranty!! I love the new Beaulieu that pro 8 sells, but the cost...oh boy! mike

I'm pretty sure the Russian quartz are not brand new but "new old stock" last manufactured in the early 90's.
I am not sure about the Quarz-8 manufacturing. I bought mine this year, in the UK, and it was obvious from the enclosed paper work it had been made in 1992! Even so it works perfectly. The clockwork certainly stops one wasting film on over long shots.
I notice that Pro-8 offer the camera, alone or as part of a starter package. The stand alone price does seem a bit high, I am sure it can be obtained cheaper - unless of course they are really new!!
